The Police Explorer Program provides an opportunity for young people aged 14 – 18 to service and give back to the community.
The Spokane Police Explorer program is partnered with the Boy Scouts of America under the Learning for Life Program. Explorers receive Police training in firearms, defensive tactics, crime scene investigation, and with specialty teams like SWAT, TAC, and K9. They will also learn leadership, communication, and public speaking skills and develop life long social and professional networks.
Those interested in the Explorer Program have the opportunity to attend an informational training session. To schedule and attend a training session, email volunteer@spokanepolice.org.
After you’ve attended the informational training session, download the application, fill it out electronically and email it to volunteer@spokanepolice.org.
Students who are in their final year of middle school may apply in April before their graduation date.
